Mauritius, famous for the Dodo, is a beautiful island in the Indian Ocean, east of Madagascar.
Well known as being a luxury holiday destination, the island has an array of five star hotels and resorts to choose from.

Other oriental languages, which are spoken, include Bhojpuri, Hindi, Urdu, Tamil, Telegu, Marathi, Gujerati and Sanscrit, which all come from India, and Cantonese and the Hakka which come from China. French and Creole are also widely spoken.
Creole has propagated popular art, especially in music and rhythms have combined with African dance and evolved into the Sega, the national dance of Mauritius.
As well as its rich history and culture, Mauritius has plenty to see and visit including Port Louis, the capital and main port of Mauritius founded in 1735, Pamplemousses, botanical gardens known to naturalists throughout the world for its large collection of indigenous and exotic palms, the coloured earths at Chamarel, mounds of undulating earth in contrasting layers of colours and the Casela Bird Park, with over 140 varieties of birds from five continents whose main attraction is the Mauritian Pink Pigeon - one of the rarest birds in the world.
