Discover Things to do on Holiday in Namibia

Sparsely populated and hauntingly remote, Namibia’s vast deserts, excellent safaris and unique frontier towns offer an intriguing alternative to the typical safari experience offered by its neighbours. A visit is as much about the dramatic scenery and stark beauty as it is about seeing the flora and fauna that somehow manage to survive in this inspiring and desolate landscape. Namibia certainly offers a different kind of safari. Apart from Etosha National Park, where there is fantastic game viewing, wildlife is scarce. Fortunately, however, the country offers many of its own unique attractions for visitors. Nothing compares with the world’s highest sand dunes in Sossusvlei, tracking rare desert elephants in beautiful Damaraland, exploring the remote and desolate Skeleton Coast and sleeping under clear, starry skies unpolluted by city lights.

Most trips to Namibia start and finish in the capital, Windhoek. There are enormous distances between areas of interest that could make holidays last for weeks. So most of visitors choose to fly from camp to camp. This not only gives you a unique bird’s-eye view of the amazing countryside, but also allows you more time on the ground to explore Namibia’s diverse attractions.
