Discover Things to do on Holiday in Greece
A holiday in Greece offers sun-drenched beaches, delicious local cuisine, picturesque landscapes and a long, historic past. As well as the mainland, the Greek islands are particularly popular.

Halkidiki Peninsula
One of the most popular places to visit on mainland Greece is Halkidiki, located in North-East Greece. Holidays in Halkidiki offer glorious scenery, lovely white sandy beaches and the crystal clear waters of the Aegean. The Halkidiki peninsula juts out from the mainland like three long fingers and the most westerly of the three, Kassandra, has good facilities and a lively nightlife. Accommodation along the peninsula ranges from a choice of luxury hotels to more modest apartments and traditional Greek houses.

Peloponnese Peninsula
The Peloponnese peninsula is the southernmost part of mainland Greece and is often described as ‘real Greece'. Here you will escape the main tourist trail and discover not only a region steeped in history (it is home to Olympia the birthplace of the Olympics) but also tiny traditional villages and superb beaches.

Parga & Sivota
Located on the west coast of the mainland, Parga has a very low-key tourist industry, which along with its natural beauty makes it ideal for those seeking rest and relaxation. Sivota, just north of Parga is located in an area of outstanding natural beauty.  Covered in pine forests and olive trees, it is probably one of the most un-touched resorts in Greece.

Corfu
An intriguing Greek island, with quaint mountain villages, rugged coastline and an aristocratic capital with Venetian palaces and fortresses. Generally speaking, Corfu welcomes a younger crowd of couples and families looking for a beach holiday on one of its many lovely beaches, but away from the main coastal resorts, smaller, more tucked away villas can be rented and hiring a car is a fantastic way to explore the island and stumble across some excellent local tavernas.

Kefalonia
Placed firmly on the map by the film Captain Corelli's Mandolin, Kefalonia is the largest of the Ionian islands situated off the west coast of Greece. It has a wild beauty with a rocky northern coastline, a sandy southern coastline and numerous bays and inlets. The local people are well known for their warm welcome and hospitality.

Rhodes
Historically, Rhodes was famous worldwide for the Colossus of Rhodes, a 30 metre high statue of the Greek God Helios, erected between 292 and 280 BC and noted as one of the ancient Seven Wonders of the World. Modern Rhodes has something for everyone whether you like bars, beaches or culture, there is an abundance of all three. Real Greece can be uncovered in the hilly interior of this 50 mile long island.
