The Beijing 2008 Olympic Games running between 8 and 24 August means that the eyes of the world
will be on the games. No other sporting event captures the world’s imagination like the Olympic Games,
and over half a million international visitors are expected to attend.

However, of the many British fans expected to go to Beijing for the games, up to half of them could be
travelling without vital travel insurance, according to insurer Preferential Direct.

Steve Nickerson, managing director of Preferential Direct says, The most common problems for fans travelling to watch the Olympic Games in Beijing are likely to be ones that can occur with any travel all over the world – lost passport, lost money or credit cards, or having to cancel their travel arrangements for some insured reason, all of which require adequate travel insurance.”

Preferential’s Classic Single Trip travel insurance includes up to £2million medical cover and up to £1,000 for cancellation/ curtailment cover and is priced from just £12.89 for 8 days’ Worldwide cover.
